Proper maintenance is paramount in keeping any firearm functional and reliable. This introductory handgun cleaning course is designed for both new gun owners and anyone in need of a quick, yet thorough, refresher. Bring a handgun and we will show you step-by-step how to break down, clean, oil, and reassemble your favorite range or carry handgun to help ensure a lifetime of reliability.

Requirements: Your firearm (unloaded – absolutely no ammunition allowed in the classroom), owner’s manual (if available), and your preferred cleaning equipment. On Target will provide cleaning solvents, oil, eye protection, and gloves at no extra charge. Safety is paramount so eye protection and gloves will be required.

This all-inclusive, introductory class teaches safety and proficient manipulation of a handgun. Work with multiple different platforms such as revolvers and striker-fired handguns and improve sight alignment and picture, as well as stance and trigger control.

Safety first! We will spend approximately an hour in the classroom going over safe handling of the firearms and handgun fundamentals. The second portion of class is spent on the range where students will be able to pick out their own fun target and have the chance to sample a .22 LR and a 9mm. Parents/guardians are able to bring their own personal handgun for their child to shoot, but it must be chambered in either .22 LR or 9mm. After the students have had the opportunity to live-fire, they will all be assessed on their skills and given a certificate.

Ladies – this class is designed with you in mind. Even with little or no experience you will get firearm training in a professional, yet non-aggressive environment. The goal of this informative class is to practice gun safety techniques, discuss the differences between handguns, understand firearm nomenclature and employ correct shooting fundamentals. The first portion of this class will be dedicated to classroom instruction during which participants are encouraged to ask all the handgun related questions they like. Following the classroom instruction, participants will have the opportunity to shoot a semi-automatic handgun. Overall, this class provides a great foundation of knowledge for the beginning woman shooter.

Course Requirements:

• You must be at least 21 years of age
• Handguns, ammunition and eye and ear protection will be provided by OnTarget
• Personal firearms are allowed but provision of ammunition is based upon availability
• Wear proper shooting attire (crew neck shirt and closed toe, high traction shoes) for range portion of class
• Bring a readiness to learn and a great attitude!

A FOID card is not necessary for introductory courses or out-of-state residents.

Following a safety briefing and mission plan, this high-velocity training event will challenge the shooter as they codify "up" drills, engage multiple targets while shooting on the move, and utilize various carry, ready, and  shooting positions. In addition, shooters will learn, and hone skill sets such as controls manipulation, tactical reloads, speed reloads, foot movement, and weak-side engagement just to name a few. Not for the faint of heart, "Skills and Drills" is designed to expand the shooter's speed, accuracy and safe firearm handling while transcending to a higher level of tactical long gun familiarity. This advanced class is ideal for the AR, AK, M1A, Tavor, and other military style long guns seeking a challenging yet enjoyable evening of fire and maneuver drills.

Course Requirements: You must be 18 and possess a valid FOID card. You must be a graduate of the On Target "AR Stage 1 & Stage II classes. You must provide your personal MSR, 4 magazines, and 150 rounds of appropriate ammunition. Bring a 2-point sling attached to your long gun. Bring eye and ear protection. Wear proper shooting attire with tactical vest, chest rig, and/or battle belt (cargo trousers and high traction, closed toe footwear are ideal). Bring a motivated attitude and be ready to shoot, move, and learn!

Per Illinois Concealed Carry mandate, the class will consist of reviewing all laws associated with Illinois Concealed Carry followed up with a qualification using your favorite concealed carry handgun.

More good news is that beginning June 1, 2018, you can register for your class date of choice to avoid any last minute rush! Take your class in the morning or evening, weekday or weekend – whatever best suits your schedule.

An excellent introductory course for the teenager interested in the shooting sports. Tailor-made for young adult shooters ages 13-18, this introductory class will cover nomenclature, safe handling, and provide a foundation in proper marksmanship related to rifle shooting. After discussing safety and fundamentals in the classroom, you will hit the range where you will have the chance to sample a variety of long guns.

Completing a CHILDCARE AUTHORIZATION WAIVER (prior to class start) allows you to drop off your teenager for the class. The option to stay with your child is always available.

Class Requirements:

• You must be between 13 and 18 years of age.
• Rifles, ammunition and eye and ear protection will be provided by OnTarget.
• Parents can bring their own rifle or carbine for their children to shoot.
• Wear proper shooting attire (crew neck shirt and closed toe, high traction shoes) for range portion of class.
• Bring a great learning attitude!

All inclusive calibers are .22LR and .223 cal.

CPR/AED/Basic First Aid

Students will receive a 2 year American Heart Association Certificate for CPR

Stop the Bleed/Gunshot Wound/Individual First Aid Kit

Students will receive a Stop the Bleed Certificate and 3 hours credits for the Gunshot Wound/IFAK Tactical Training

Learn to Save a Life:

The Tactical Treatment of Gunshot Wounds course is primarily for home owners/defenders, firearms instructors, range safety officers and police officers any of whom may suddenly find themselves in the position of providing initial care and stabilization of a gunshot wound victim. This is a MUST HAVE class for all Firearms Instructors.

Someone that is bleeding excessively from a gunshot or similar wound has as little as 90 seconds to live. Don't just stand there, learn to ACT FAST, learn the techniques anyone can use to buy the precious time needed until EMS arrives. In this course you will review and practice some of the following and much more:

• Situational Safety & Security Considerations
• Treatment of Massive Bleeding utilizing Stop The Bleed Training
• Treatment of Airway Obstructions
• Treatment of a Tension Pneumothorax with Chest Seals
• Tourniquet Staging & Application
• Stabilize- Use of M.A.R.C.H. concept for battlefield medicine.
• After Stabilization- P.A.W.S. application & concerns.
• Differences between SOFTT, SWAT-T, RAT & CAT Tourniquets
• When and how to Pack wounds and use Hemostatic Agents
• Treatment of Evisceration Injuries
• Using our Blowout kits / IFAKs

Attendees will receive live instruction, scenarios, hands-on demonstrations/practice utilizing tourniquets, hemostatic agents, chest seals and more. Each student will receive a Course Certificate.

This is NOT a general First-Aid & CPR class, however we highly suggest getting certified in general First-Aid, CPR & AED also. This course specifically covers gunshot wounds, stopping massive bleeding, airway obstructions, and trauma associated gunshot wounds.

Learn the safe and proper techniques for carrying a concealed and holstered firearm – indispensable information for the new CCW licensee. Beginning with a discussion of holster types and uses, students will spend classroom time learning and perfecting the techniques specific to their handgun and holster combination. Following the classroom portion, participants will undergo live-fire, holster draw exercises on the range.

Class Requirements:

• You must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid FOID card.
• You must have completed basic firearms training at OnTarget, or commensurate training, and hold a CCW certificate.
• Bring a personal handgun and appropriate holster (strong-side, inside or outside the waistband).
• Each student will need to bring 200 rounds of ammunition specific to your firearm
• Shirt or jacket that conceals holster
• Wear proper shooting attire (crew neck shirt and closed toe, high traction shoes) for range portion of class
• Eye and ear protection
• Durable belt

Handgun graduates, now that you have a basic understanding of firearm fundamentals, this class serves as the perfect opportunity to hone your marksmanship skills and become more confident with the handling of your firearm. Learn new techniques and principles to further enhance your shooting skills. Develop shooting fundamentals such as stance, grip, sight alignment, breath control, trigger control and follow-through.

Class Requirements:

• You must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid FOID card.
• You must have completed a Beginner Level Handgun course.
• Bring your own handgun or rent one from our pro shop
• Bring 200 rounds of ammunition specific for your firearm or purchase in our pro shop

The ideal class for couples who are beginning handgun enthusiasts and who seek firearm training in a professional learning environment. Gun Couples provides a great place for couples to learn about handguns while developing a new hobby to share. The goal of this informative class is to practice gun safety techniques, discuss the differences between handguns, understand firearm nomenclature and employ correct shooting fundamentals. The first portion of this class will be dedicated to classroom instruction during which participants are encouraged to ask all the handgun related questions they like. Following the classroom instruction, participants will have the opportunity to shoot a semi-automatic handgun. Overall, this class provides a great foundation of knowledge for the beginning shooter to build upon. All “couples” are welcome including a parent with adult child.

Course Requirements:

• You must be at least 21 years of age

For those CCW permit holders who are "Game on", we have developed a night of advanced shooting skills just for you. After a review in the classroom, shooters will experience the following:

• Shooting behind cover
• Engaging multiple targets
• Shooting on the move
• Turn and shoot holster drills

Due to the advanced drills offered in this mixer, shooters are expected to show proof of having the following shooting credentials:

• CCW Permit holder
• OnTarget Holster Drills Class
• OnTarget's Intermediate handgun or equivalent training from OnTarget
• Proof of equivalent Intermediate or Advanced Training from another training facility

Participants are expected to bring:

• Personal Handgun
• Holster (inside or outside the waistband, strong-side carry)
• 100 Rounds
• 2 magazines and mag holster
• 1 speed loader if using revolver.

Proper attire includes:

• High traction closed toe footwear
• Crew neck shirt

Due to the significant volume of member requests, OnTarget has developed this fun and practical two-hour, .22 cal. rifle safety seminar for children between the ages of 7 and 12. We understand that many young children are avid shooters. OnTarget, as a family-oriented range, is offering this class as an opportunity for families to enjoy shooting together at our facility. This seminari includes classroom instruction followed by range time. Our instructors are men and women with plenty of experience training young children in the fundamentals of safe marksmanship. Students will receive an official “Tot Shots” safety card that grants access to shooting at OnTarget range with appropriate parental supervision.

Class Requirements:

• Open to children between the ages of 7 and 12.
• Each child must be accompanied by one parent or legal guardian.
• Siblings can share a lane with one parent or guardian.
• Rifles are available at no additional charge but we encourage bringing your own rifle.
